Amulet ring

A ring-shaped iron object with two different possible interpretations. Either it was a link in the form of a 'swivel', which allows attached objects to move freely in relation to each other. Or it is an amulet ring with a phallus-shaped pendant. Both ideas are feasible and may even have been in combination. The object was found together with other items with cultish associations. It is possible that a mundane object such as this was also used in a cult context. Settlement find, Norrtil, Sankt Olof Parish, Uppland. Loan from Sigtuna Museum.
