Pendant
Gilded bronze pendant depicting a female figure in profile. She seems to be leaning forward offering a drinking beaker. Her hair is styled in a large knot in the middle of her head. The features of the face are anonymized consisting of a round eye, nose and chin. Her dress is floor length with decorated borders (tablet-woven band?) but does not cover her neck. Rather three rings can be seen on her neck, perhaps torques. From the shoulder of the dress and below there is a surface with ornamentation of standing and lying rhomboid shapes which may be thought to depict stylised bird wings. The figure could be an Ölandish depiction of one of the Valkyrie goddesses Freya or Frigg, both of whom could assume the shape of a bird. Stray find, Öland. Unknown findspot.
