Pendant

Silver pendant depicting a female figure in profile. She is wearing a patterned, ornamented floor length dress. Her hair is styled in a long plait which hangs down the length of her back. The pendant has usually been interpreted as depicting a Valkyrie. Grave find, Birka, Bj 825, Adelsö Parish, Uppland. The pendant was very likely made in Birka, as forge moulds with this motif have been found during excavations there.
