Jug

Jug of turned, black polished 'Tating ware'. The jug has carvings and tinfoil decoration in a geometric pattern and, towards the bottom, in the form of a cross. The jug is of central European/Frankish origin. A common theory is that this type of jug was used by Christians to serve communion wine. Grave find, Birka, Bj 597, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
