Pendant

Gold pendant decorated with filigree. The cylindrical upper part is adapted for a chain or some such. The lower part has three sides and resembles a bird of prey head with strong beak and round eyes. The same type of head and decoration appears on similar pendants, for example the 'Skåne Hammer" and the pendants in the Hiddensee find. The pendant is probably Scandinavian or Northern German craftwork. Settlement find, Tryckaren quarter, Sigtuna, Uppland.
