Armlet

Armlet made of a smooth gold rod. Six small gold rings are set on the ring. There are similar rings made of silver, which some people have interpreted as a type of "payment ring" where the smaller rings were used for financial transactions. It is less credible that the gold rings were also used for such a purpose. Gold was never used as a currency but may have functioned as a gift. Gold rings may also have been used for oath swearing, that is when a subordinate would swear fidelity to a superior. It may also be a mythological representation of Odin's gold ring Draupnir, from which a smaller ring fell each night. Stray find, Husie, Skåne.
