Linen fabric

Plain weave linen fabric. The fabric is even and has several layers. It has approximately the same number of threads in the warp as in the weft. The woven fabric is lying on a filling of plant material which may have belonged to a bed or stuffed cushion. Warp 12 threads/cm, weft 11 threads/cm. Grave find, Birka, Bj 739, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
