Coin (penning)

Swedish silver coin minted in Sigtuna in the 1020s for king Anund Jakob (approximately 1022–1050) based on the English model. On the reverse side of the coin we see the inscription 'ĐORMOĐ ON SIHTV' ('Thormoth in Sigtuna'). The moneyer Thormoth was probably also active in Lund where his name appears on Danish coins. Findspot unknown.
