Cross

Small, asymmetric bronze cross with two long, triangular arms and two very short and straight ones. One side, which seems to be the front of the object, is pitted in an irregular pattern while the other side is smooth and without decoration. A spike on the underside in the smaller triangular arm reveals that the "cross" was probably placed upright and possibly attached to a small, portable altar. It is not impossible that the short transverse arms were attachments for arms of the cross of a different material, which would then have given the cross overall a more symmetric shape. Settlement find, Norrtil, Sankt Olof Parish, Uppland. Loan from Sigtuna Museum.
