Cat figurine

Amber figurine of a stationary sitting cat. Cats were Freya’s special attribute animal and were said to have drawn her chariot. Cats also appear in tales of the seeress in the saga of Eric the Red, in which the seeress’s hat and gloves were lined with cat fur. Settlement find, Svarta Jorden, Birka, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
