Shoe

Fragment of leather shoe soles. Finds of shoes from the Viking Age are extremely uncommon since leather requires exceptionally favourable conditions if it is not to be broken down and decomposed. These soles have miraculously avoided complete decomposition. Grave find, Boat grave XIII, Vendel Church, Vendel Parish, Uppland.
