Coin pendant

Pendant made from a Roman silver coin minted between 176-180 for Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180) who depicted his deceased wife, Empress Faustina the Younger. The coin pendant was found in one of the wallets. Old Roman coins are sometimes found in Viking Age graves and hoards. Most were probably found in the ground during the Viking Age. Grave find, Birka, Bj 750, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
