Vessel

Large biconical vessel of dark brown, wheel-turned pottery - "Menkendorf Ware" - of West Slavic provenance. Just above the shoulder there is decoration which is typical for this type, with wavy bands, comb stamps and lines. On the bottom are the marks from the turning wheel. Grave find, Birka, Bj 598, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
