Tongue-shaped silver grivna (name for the currency used in the East: compare with the Hryvnia, the currency of modern-day Ukraine), probably made in the 11th century in the Novgorod area. The Slavic given name 'Bylȩta' is inscribed in Cyrillic script on the obverse side of the grivna. Bylȩta was presumably the first owner of the silver bar. Hoard find, Burge, Lummelunda Parish, Gotland.
