Crosier
Bronze bishop’s staff and crosier with gilded handle and blue glass inlays. The motif is two scenes from the Bible story about Jonah in the belly of the whale. The whale resembles a dragon with Jonah in its jaws. One side shows how the whale swallows Jonah. The other side is in worse condition, but more gilded and shows how he was spat out. The decoration is in Irish style, which indicates that the staff comes from the British Isles. Settlement find, Helgö, building group 2, Ekerö Parish, Uppland.
