Reticella beaker
Sherd from the body of a turquoise reticella beaker with applied yellow striated decoration. Reticulated (reticella) vessels were probably used for different drinking ceremonies which finished with the glass being smashed on the floor. Reticulated or reticella refers to a type of beaker decorated with different colours using glass threads which were melted onto the beaker. Svarta Jorden, Birka, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
