Bottle
Round bottle with pronounced collar and high neck. Made from three copper or bronze plates. The bottle is probably Persian and is evidence of contacts between Scandinavia and the Islamic world. The collar is decorated with triangles, diamond shapes and lines in a wave pattern. In one place the decoration has been erased and replaced with two lines of Arabic letters and symbols. The inscription is difficult to read and there are several possible interpretations. One runs: 'The most complete and wonderful proof of mercy is a handful for God". Grave find, Aska, Hagebyhöga Parish, Östergötland.
