Pendant
Silver dress accessory depicting a female figure in profile. She has a long pigtail running down the length of her back. No facial features apart from a large almond shaped eye and the slightly prominent nose can be distinguished. Her dress falls below her ankles, hiding her feet. It is highly patterned and decorated. From shoulder height and down the body there is a field of rhombus shape with ring and dot decoration. This probably denotes birds wings, and the figure depicted is most probably one of the goddesses Frigg or Freya. According to the myths both were able to assume the form of a bird and they were foremost among the Valkyries. Grave find, Sibble, Grödinge Parish, Södermanland.
