English silver coin minted circa 991–997 in Exeter for king Ethelred II (978–1016). The obverse side of the coin shows the king in profile adorned with cloak and sceptre, while the reverse side has a double cross with the letters C,R,V,X in the corners. This type of 'Crux’ coin was used as the model for the first domestic coins in Scandinavia. Part of a hoard find, Digeråkra, Barlingbo Parish, Gotland.
