Coin

160 silver coins from the Sundveda hoard, which contained a total of 482 coins. All the coins are Islamic, except for a small group of Sasanian coins and a fragmented Carolingian coin. The hoard was probably deposited in a bag or leather pouch. This explains why certain coins were collected in heaps nearby. The Sundveda hoard was probably deposited during the second part of the 840s and is one of the earliest Viking Age hoards to be found on the Swedish mainland. Part of a hoard find, Sundveda, Odensala Parish, Uppland.
