Coins

50 English silver coins from the hoard in Stora Slågarp. The import of English coins to Scandinavia is strongly linked to the tributes which the Anglo-Saxon kings had to pay to the Vikings to buy peace during the period 991-1018. But imports also took place via international trade, which explains why most of the hoards which contain English coins also contain coins from other countries. Part of hoard find, Stora Slågarp, Stora Slågarp Parish, Skåne.
