Coin (penny)

Silver coin minted in 941-944 in York for the Viking king Anlaf Sihtricsson, King of Northumbria 941-944 and 948-952. On the reverse of the coin there is a triangular symbol which may be interpreted as a weather vane or a standard. The vane or standard has a small cross in the middle. Findspot unknown. Probably found in England during metal detecting.
