Wooden rivet

Wooden rivet with carved round head. The trunnel is burnt at one end. The broken shaft indicates that the rivet was knocked out during repairs and replacement of planking on a ship. Found in the bottom sediment, in the waters outside Birka, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
