Coin (denar)

Bohemian silver coin minted for Duke Oldrich (1012–1034), probably in Prague. On the obverse side of the coin we see the Duke’s bust portrait with banner. The reverse side shows St Wenceslaus with a cross staff. Bohemian coins are not completely unknown in Scandinavia, but they comprise a small group compared with Islamic, German and English coins. Part of a hoard find, Lilla Vasstäde, Hablingbo Parish, Gotland.
