Hilt

Sword handle with pommel and iron upper and lower hilt. Pommel and grip are significantly smaller than on most other swords, the lower hilt is convex. No part of it was decorated. Found detached together with the blade, the axe and the spear in a pit in conjunction with grave mound Bj 750. It is possible that the handle was deliberately broken off when deposited. Hoard find from Birka, Adelsö Parish, Uppland.
