Gaming board

Gaming board of spruce, partially fragmented. Playing surface is engraved with deep grooves and consists of three cross-shaped divided rectangles, one inside the other. At the partially preserved short end there are two engraved grooves along the edge of the board. The board gives the impression of having been made hastily with a piece of planking, probably in order to be part of a burial ritual. It was found at the bottom of the boat. Grave find, Årby, Rasbokil Parish, Uppland.
