Small, glazed, light clay cup, with ear and thumb grip. Inspired by the Chinese style (Tang dynasty), the cup was probably made somewhere in the Sino-Iranian/Persian region. It is the only example of ceramic ware from that part of the world to be found in Scandinavia. Grave find, Hemse annexhemman, Hemse Parish, Gotland.
