Ring-headed pin

Silver ring-headed pin with gilded terminal knobs decorated with gold filigree. On each knob there is a valknut motif. The brooch is missing the long silver pin which would have been attached to the centrally placed knob. The ring-headed pin is reminiscent of the British "thistle pins", but it is probably eastern Scandinavian craftwork. Part of a hoard find, Vårby, Huddinge Parish, Södermanland.
