Spindle whorle
Light green glass conical spindle whorl, which was found together with a weighing bowl and part of a balance scales in a deposit from the 11th century. This suggests that the whorl had an important role in this context. Glass whorls are not unheard of but they are usually found individually. In shape and size the Norrtil whorl corresponds to the more common burnt clay ones. Another was found in a Viking Age cultural layer in Sigtuna, however. Settlement find, Norrtil, Sankt Olof Parish, Uppland. Loan from Sigtuna Museum.
